If you’re a fan of online poker, then you’ve no doubt come across several online poker sites trumping the words, Free Play Poker. This concept is unique and it’s all the rage with online players. Join me on poker-tournaments-online.com to find out more about how to leverage poker tourneys to the max.

Article

I’ve seen my fair share of online poker tournaments, but precious few of them allow players to actually game with no money upfront. They’re called free play poker tournaments and they’ve won over many poker fans. The concept itself is somewhat of a misnomer because oftentimes players will find themselves making small deposits to actually enter into freeroll tourneys, but from there on – the tournament action is free.

There are several ways to get started with poker tournaments. Before we go there however, it’s important to have a little insight into how poker tournaments have evolved. Before these tourneys were only accessible at real-life venues like those in Las Vegas Nevada, but now every eligible poker player is a mere click away from enjoying something magical.

There are sit and go’s, multi-table events and even heads-up battles. And better yet Buy Generic Cialis Online there are fantastic poker freerolls with massive prize pools and many opponents who are easy to get the advantage over. You see, with poker tourneys there’s always a glut of players wanting to compete so you really needn’t worry too much about your competency level because it’s game on for anyone.

What should you be looking out for when you’re playing poker tournaments?

Freeroll poker tournaments are all the rage. There is a virtual glut of action taking place and most of the commendable sites offer the same quality of gaming and fantastic poker software platforms. I always like to promote three basic elements in my poker gaming selections:

Stable tournament servers are a must so be sure to try out multiple freeroll sites first

Fantastic poker freeroll tournament options such as multiplayer functionality and audio/visual effects

High volumes of player traffic at the poker dens and a lively mix of regular tourneys

The list of poker sites to check out if you’re looking for freeroll tourneys is impressive. They range from popular player choices in: PartyPoker, Everest Poker, Bodog Poker, 888Poker and Winner Poker. But you are not limited to these brands – there are many high quality poker rooms to choose from. A little research into reviewing poker rooms will quickly reveal the better options from the mix.

Let me start by telling you that there’s more to poker freerolls than meets the eye. First and foremost you have to realise what a freeroll tournament is and then where to find them. According to trusted online industry sources, Poker freerolls are games that you can join in with no cost to yourself. In a nutshell they’re ‘free’ although certain requirement may need to be met in order to qualify for them. The actual terminology used to described freerolls is somewhat misleading because sometimes it is sometimes required to make a payment in order to gain entry into a tournament. Note that because the players are not really making payment, the money for the winners comes from sponsorships and/or prize money from the house. The prize money does not come from the accumulation of the entry fees less the fee for the house. Right, now that we’re clear on where the cash comes from and how these tournaments are funded, it’s important to reveal exactly where they can be enjoyed.

Online gaming destinations for poker freeroll tournaments

Some of the top online poker rooms for freerolls include these operators:

Absolute Poker

PokerStars

Bwin

Doylesroom

Carbon Poker

Full Tilt Poker

After you’ve selected your preferred online poker room, you’ll be able to navigate directly to the freerolls where you’ll be able to find generous online bonuses. With sites like Cake Poker, there’s even a free deposit bonus for poker freerolls. And with over $4 million in poker prize money payouts, you’ll be in the hunt for a big one. I’ve been lucky enough to take a look at multiple tournaments where you can find freerolls taking place on the hour, every hour. Games like No-Limit Texas Hold’em and 7-Card Stud High Low are all the rage. A note is in order here – these games offer free participation and the opportunity to win huge cash prizes, however some of the aforementioned poker rooms may require a prior minimum rake hand or even player comp points/ action points before you enter the freerolls. My advice to you is always do your Cialis Online homework prior to gaming, because you don’t want to be taken by surprise in a poker freeroll tournament!

The No-Limit Hold’em World Championship Main Event is about ready to crank it up a gear. Recall that the buy-in for the event is some $10,000. The number of entries so far was sitting at over 7,000 – pretty substantial, even for WSOP standards. From Day Eight there were some 27 players starting and there are only 9 players remaining. With a total prize pool of almost $70 million, it’s going to get hot indeed. The number of places already paid is 747 and the first place prize is a whopping $9 million. Those are the quick stats – impressive to say the least.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man

I can barely contain my excitement as the WSOP goes all-out to provide viewers with the most riveting entertainment in television history. The 2010 Main Event is down to just 9 players. That’s right – the righteous 9. And for each one of these candidates there’s a guaranteed $811,823 to be made. These guys ground their way into the money and they’ve earned their place among the poker stars.

The 9 players and their seating assignments are as follows:

Jason Sentl in Seat 1

Joseph Cheong in Seat 2

John Dolan in Seat 3

Jonathon Duhamel in Seat 4

Michael Mizrachi in Seat 5

Matthew Generic Cialis Jarvis in Seat 6

John Racener in Seat 7

Filippo Candio in Seat 8

Cuong Nguyen in Seat 9

What sort of prize money can these players expect?

Don’t lose any sleep thinking that anyone other than the winner won’t collect – because they all do – substantially. This is what the payout schedule for the 2010 WSOP is looking like:

1st place wins $8,944,138
2nd place wins $5,545,855
3rd place wins $4,129,979
4th place wins $3,092,497
5th place wins $2,442,960
6th place wins $1,772,939
7th place wins $1,356,708
8th place wins $1,045,738
9th place wins $811,823

Amarillo Slim needs Cialis little introduction. This legend of the poker arena is getting on in years, but his poker genius is indisputable. He has won 4 poker bracelets and has enjoyed 10 money finishes. During his prolific career he helped found the Super Bowl of Poker or the SBOP. The history of the SBOP dates back to its heydays in the 1980s when it was second only to the emergent WSOP. But even the SBOP had its niche audience in professional poker player and seasoned amateur players.

And when you consider that the SBOP Main Events and others leading into it were won by players elected to the Poker Hall of Fame, then this spells good news for the tournament. Such world-famous stars include Chip Reese and Jack Keller. Indeed SBOP Main Event player Stu Ungar won the prestigious event three times.

The 2008 Superbowl of Poker was played over a two-week period spanning Tuesday January 22nd through February 3rd. It took place at the Sycuan Casino in El Cajon, California. The first event was the Ladies No-Limit Hold’em with no re-buy or add-ons. On Sunday February 3rd the 12th event of the SBOP took place – appropriately labelled the No Limit – Hold’em Tournament of Champions. The top 5 winners of this final event were the following:

Lawrence Fairchild – $5,280

Wayne Archer – $2,790

Tyler Wilson – $1,550

Andrew Salonen – $1,315

Ed Sumcad – $1,085

It has been noted that many of the winners of the Superbowl of Poker received personalized gifts from Amarillo Slim himself. Indeed during the very first year of the tournament the gift was purportedly a $3,000 pair of cowboy boots. And as the tournament grew in popularity and player numbers so too did the extravagance of the gifts. Amarillo slim presented cup trophies to the winners in 1980. Indeed the big paydays of the WSOP – when compared to yesteryear money values – were almost on par. The biggest recorded paydays came in 1983 and 1984 when $275,000 was paid out to players Hans Lund and Stu Ungar respectively.

The World Poker Tour is unlike many other tournaments in that it is played throughout the year in multiple countries. A fantastic sampling of top players from around the world converges on these tourneys. The WPT commenced in the USA by attorney and TV producer Steven Lipscomb. He is now the CEO of WPT Enterprises. In 2009, PartyGaming announced its acquisition of the WPT for some $12,3 million.

WPT Enterprises, Inc. is the media/entertainment company that is engaged in the production, development and production of gaming-themed, televised programs and licensing. Upcoming WPT tournaments include the following:

From November 2nd thru 6th the Casino Municipal D Amneville in France will get underway.

In addition there are many more poker tournaments taking place throughout the remainder of 2010. TitanPoker is the leading poker room for all the major Poker World Tour events, qualifiers and satellites. Plus players will be able to enjoy top-quality poker gaming on their mobile phones with the shuffle and deal option on their mobile phones.

The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) is a much-anticipated affair indeed. Owing to the relatively smaller size of the casinos in England, there are fewer poker participants in WSOPE. But this certainly does not detract from the quality of the poker gaming.

As the WSOPE is yet another addition to the gaming fold – there are already many poker tournaments in existence – the brand awareness of the WSOP quickly allowed for the WSOPE to gain ascendancy.

The Cialis Viagra buy Online inaugural WSOPE kicked off in 2007 and included the likes of Andy Bloch, Tony G, Jeff Madsen, Jeniffer Harman and others. Many of the poker fundis who made it to the 1st final had indeed already won a World Series of Poker bracelet.

The 4th instalment of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) begins on Tuesday, September 14th at 12:00 pm. This 3-day event – the first event of the WSOPE – is known as the Six Handed No-Limit Hold’em with a £2,500 buy-in.

On Thursday September 16th at 12:00 pm the next 3-day event kicks off. This is known as Event 2 and centres around the game of Pot Limit Omaha with a £5,000 buy-in. Moving on through the tourney is Event 3. This begins on Friday, September 17th at 12:00 and is a 5-day event. This No-Limit Hold’em event has a buy-in of £1,000.

Moving forward to Tuesday, September 21st Event number 4 begins. This 3-day event will rouse the crowds because it’s the No Limit Hold’em High Roller Heads-Up. And the buy-in on this big one is £10,000. Come 5pm all the high-rollers will be clocking in.

The fifth and final event of the WSOPE begins on September 23rd at 12:00 pm. This 6-day event is all the rage. Players will be able to go head-to-head for the £10,000 buy in. Previous winners of the WSOPE have included: Annette Obrestad in 2007 (£1,000,000), John Juanda (£868,800), Barry Shulman (£801,603).

Players from all over the world will be attending the WSOPE. Many big poker sites offer WSOPE qualifiers and while it’s certainly nowhere near as grandiose as the WSOP of Las Vegas, there is still a tremendous level of appreciation for the WSOPE and qualifiers and satellites abound.

Reaching the prestigious WSOP is an honour and a privilege. Only the very finest poker players from around the world can claim the spoils from this series of poker gaming events. The event kicked off on Friday, May 28th 2010 with the Casino Employees No-Limit Hold’em event. It runs through until Event 57 with the No-Limit Hold’em Championship in November 2010.

A listing of some of the famous players who have cashed in on a World Series of Poker/World Series of Poker Circuit Event include the likes of: Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, Johnny Moss, Eric Seidel, Phil Ivey, Men Nguyen, Billy Baxter, TJ Cloutier, Jay Heimovitz and others. The tournament takes place at the Rio Hotel & Casino at 3700 West Flamingo Road in Las Vegas, NV USA.

Getting into the WSOP is a big deal indeed. And it doesn’t matter what your personal level of experience is, all players can use the WSOP website to interact with one another. Plus there are many fantastic opportunities to learn the game of poker as well as to play poker online. And there are many more interesting poker tips to be learned through the WSOP site, with poker terms, poker strategy and poker hands.

The vast majority of Poker Hall of Fame players have enjoyed the WSOP tournament and its generous multi-million dollar winnings. Big name poker players like Mike Sexton, Henry Orenstein, Duane Tomko, Barbara Enright, T.J. Cloutier and Jack Binion are all on the A-list. The Poker Hall of Fame was set up in 1979 and was later acquired by Harrah’s Entertainment along with the WSOP.

Poker players looking to improve their game will take heart from the fact that the WSOP is running poker academies. The first of these takes place as the ‘Main Event Primer’ in Las Vegas and the other was a mind and body academy at Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino with poker instructors Joe Navarro and Sam Chauhan.

At the end of the tournament one lucky poker star will walk away with millions of dollars. 2008’s champion Peter Eastgate pocketed some $9,152, 416 while 2009’s Joe Cada claimed $8,546, 435. The 2010 prize is going to Propecia cheap be equally grand.

Poker is arguably the world’s most favourite casino card game. And for a game this big, there are a plethora of large-scale tournaments taking place. Three such events include the World Series of Poker, the World Poker Tour and the Aussie Millions. These contests pit the best players in the poker playing world against one another in shakedowns that are the stuff of legend. Of the three aforementioned tournaments and indeed the most important on the entire poker calendar is the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

WSOP facts and figures

The World Series of Poker is the most anticipated poker event of the year. Poker aficionados, spectators and players are all eager to get the latest scoop from everything WSOP related. With such exciting events as the Main Event, satellites leading into the tournament, employee events and more – this is the must-play/must-see poker tourney of them all. The World Series of Poker is a world-famous affair which is held every year in Las Vegas, Nevada. It began some 40 years ago –in 1970 – when Benny Binion invited the world’s 6 best poker players to game at the Horseshoe Casino – the rest they say is history. From humble beginnings the WSOP soon grew to become a formidable and ultimately leading competition on the poker calendar. As an illustration of this, by 1982 the event drew some 52 participants. And barely 5 years later there were over 2,000 players taking part. The contest reached its highest levels in 2006 with 8,773 players participating.

The World Poker Tour

Another major event on the poker calendar is the inimitable World Poker Tour (WPT). Contrary to popular opinion, the WPT is not a specific event; rather it is a series of competitions on a global scale. The WPT was started by Steven Lipscomb – an attorney and TV producer. Lipscomb is now the Chief Executive Officer of WPT Enterprises. In addition to big cash money prizes, the WPT offers its winners bracelets too. This is even done retroactively. During 2009, PartyGaming had taken over control of the WPT for a staggering fee of $12.3 million. The World Poker Tour shows on Fox Sports Net. And the series of tourneys selected to be a part of the WPT are highly ranked in prize money, reputation, location, and aesthetic appeal to create a chic, global image for the game of poker.

The Aussie Millions

The Southern Hemisphere is no stranger to big money poker events. The Australian Viagra cheap Poker Championship is a series of poker tournaments held at the Crown Casino, in Melbourne, Australia. The Main Event of the series sports a prize pool over AU$7 million. In 2009 alone, some 18 official events were held along with the final AUD$10,500 No Limit Holdem Main Event. During 2009, the prize pool topped AUD$2 Million. Also during 2009, the Aussie Millions was home to the world’s largest cash game with an AUD$1 million buy-in. The Aussie Millions is the 6th largest poker tourney in the world.
